The perpetrator was identified as Nermin Sulejmanovic, a 35-year-old man who had a history of drug trafficking and violence. He had been arrested several times for smuggling narcotics and assaulting a police officer, according to local media reports.
Sulejmanovic posted at least three videos on his Instagram account, showing his brutal acts and taunting the viewers. In the first video, he warned his followers that they were about to witness a live execution. He then moved the camera to his ex-wife, who was lying on the floor with a bloody and disfigured face. A child could be heard crying in the background.
“Hey guys, you’re going to see something you’ve never seen before – a live murder. It’s a massacre,” Sulejmanovic said, holding a gun in his hand. He then shot his ex-wife several times, killing her instantly.
After the murder, he turned the camera to the crying baby and said, “Someone come and save the child. Moving on.” He then left the house and got into a car, ending the first video.
The second video showed him driving around the town of Gradacac, where he lived. He said that he was looking for someone else to kill, and that he had a list of targets. He also said that he had no regrets for what he had done, and that he was doing it for fun.
